    Firefox loads cached version

I had issues updating my Firefox (portable) to version 25. Had to go into admin mode to update it. Now it has this annoying problem, where it loads the last cached version of a page i visited. if its a forum, i cant know if there have been new replies, if its reddit, all the threads appear as read. gotta force a refresh.

kinda getting annoying. anyone else experiencing this or know how to fix this?

In seriousness, do you also get cached versions when you run Firefox as an Administrator? What issues did you have updating it?

    Re: Firefox loads cached version

Chrome is even worse for caching, it even caches DNS separately to the pc.

Get the web development toolbar (made by Chris Pederick), you can globally disable it under the disable option
    http://chrispederick.com/work/web-developer/

It's in the add-ons market on firefox too

    Re: Firefox loads cached version

Chrome doesnt have the extensions I need. And I dont like Google anyway. Too clean for me. I use chrome only when i need on-the-fly translation.

@virtuo, good question. I will try that and report back. The error was something generic like "some part of the update could not be applied, please try later again".

Edit: Ran as admin, and it did the same (loaded an old page of reddit). Will try the extension.

    Re: Firefox loads cached version

It seems like some weird thing is going on in my laptop. First Counterstrike GO wouldnt run unless steam was run as admin (occasionally too), then it was firefox and now the Dropbox installer cannt elevate itself to admin level. And if I force that using the Run as Admin, then it gives me another error saying it wont install properly if I use that option lol.
