Slipstreaming, Imaging, Installing - XP / apps

    right,

looking for a solution to my general dislike of ye ole format'n'reinstall

i dont know enough about slipstreaming.. so basically im wondering if its possible to add apps into your slipstreamed xp/sp2 disc, ie if i wanted to stick a free firewall (sygate personal or so) and a free AV (anything..) then maybe something like firefox, thunderbird and mirc.. all onto one disc, clearly there would be problems with space on a CD, but maybe a dvd?

if not.. would it be easier to just setup a copy of XP with everything how i want it, and make an image of it.. burn that to dvd or something.. ? if i was to use it on more than one of my machines id need a way of changing cd key etc, as with the slipstreamed cd/dvd

OR ive heard a bit about the microsoft input.. where if im right.. you can configure an install on a cd, pre setting things etc... duno what its called, and cant seem to find it .. yet.

anyone tried any similar, or any ideas / input etc?

    ta
er, if your northbridge fan is humming loudly, disconnect it. _dont_ kick the side of the case, it _will_ break it.
    i know :/

You may want to read up on SYSPREP - comes with XP (in the utils directory on the CD). Just type sysprep into the help and support...
