Starting a windows program with a delay

    Hi All,
I'm sure there must be a simple way of doing this. I'm transitioning over from an OSX based HTPC to a Haswell NUC running Windows 7. Everything seems to be fine, except when Plex (the HTPC software I'm using) starts, sometimes processes start after it and it loses focus.

Is there a way to start something after, say 5 seconds?

    Regards...

Assuming that it's not a service (in which case just add a dependency) you could use a batch file along these lines

Not a service, but tbh there's a few bits and pieces and I'm not sure which one is definitely causing the problem. The ping thing looks like a winner!

    Cheers...

You can use Task scheduler to add in a delay, I've put my backup software on a 1 min timer to allow my pc to find the network drives
