    Using non-standard web fonts

I want to use a non-standard font on a site. Is there anyway I can acheive this if the usr dosn't have the font installed?

I.e. can I 'preload' a font for the site onto the users machine?

    Cheers

    basically, no.

the usual method is to specify a list of fonts, using css, where the system will try them one by one until it gets to one it can use

Many thanks KeZZeR, just the kind of thing I was looking for.
Don't worry Stoo, this site isn't going to be on the WWW.

Embedding fonts is a bad idea due to the potential for someone to use it as a security hole which means most modern browsers won't allow it without at least some form of user interaction. You should really stick to standard fonts as it allows the visually impaired to ensure they can view the application or site in the manner they choose
