AVG holding back internet connection for 15 mins

hi I use win7 and I have installed avg internet security 2014 it does a good job but when I boot my system up I can connect to the net which is bt fibre for about 15mins it just hangs?
can anyone help?

Call AVG support? Uninstall AVG and use something else?

hi its the paid version and I have tried support but they say everything is working as it should be! the call centre is in the USA so trying to explain was quite difficult.

Same as Kal. Uninstall and use something else.
Had recently few laptops which were reduced in terms of performance and reliability to netbooks thanks to AVG (paid or free, but mostly paid).
