    Advanced Search

    I need help (again!)

I have a large selection of photos that have been processed in Adobe Photoshop. All their information has been stored using the Adobe "File Info" option.

What I would like to know, I how can I index this information so that I can search through it?

For example, all the pictures that contain the keywork "Red" (this would have been inputted in Adobe)

I know the search facility on my website will need to be reprogrammed and I just wondered if any of you could help.

    Thanks a lot

I assume by 'File Info' option in Adobe you mean that it has something similar to Office documents where you enter the author, subject of the document and a few comments etc?

Do you know what languages you'll have available on your server to do this with?
ASP has the FileSystemObject, but whether that gets you access to (presumably) 3rd party shell extensions I'll have to find out.

    That's exactly it.

Unfortunately I won't have access to ASP at all on my server

When I get my dedicated server I might be able to install ASP, but I don't know if ASP will install on RedHat.

The last site (that I knew used this system) was written in ASP.
Would there be a solution in PHP?

    http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/functio...rstatcache.php

Those functions running along the bottom of that page are all for file statistics.

You'd probably have to return the file information when you enter the search parameters. The great thing is, you can find loads of information using multiple functions.
