    Turn off XP SP2 Security Center Alerts

    Hi,

    Just updated a friends machine with XP 2.

    I keep getting little alerts warning me that the firewall is turned off....I know this, I turned it off. I want it off ! leave me alone microsoft.

    How do I stop it bugging the user every time he logs in ?

    thanks
    It is Inevitable.....

    Paste this into a *.reg file and run it

    Code:
    REGEDIT4

    ;Disable Windows Firewall Taskbar Notifications

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center]
    "FirewallDisableNotify"=dword:00000001
    Done

    No thats easy! But that doesn't get rid of the alerts on start-up!

    As it starts saying windows is not monitoring your Anti-virus etc etc. . I meant on the left hand side of the Security center there is all help files listed (And questions) then one before bottom if you click it gives you the option to turn off balloon messages. . And soo I just thought that it wasn't very clear as its small blue writing and all the others are help. Plus instead of saying 'Options' or something similar it says Change the way Security Center alerts me. .
