Just one question. Why do you need to update your BIOS?

It depends on the motherboard... Go to your motherboard maker's site and they should tell you what to do... Basically it involves creating an MS-DOS boot disk (floppy disk) and then copying the new bios and a flashing program to it, then rebooting with the floppy in the drive, and let it do its stuff... and cross your fingers that it doesn't screw up

It covers almost all the setting you will come across in your bios. May take you a while but by the time you've finished your bios/motherboard will be at it's fastest.
