    Syntax Highlighting PHP Editor

I know this is mainly down to personal preference etc, but what do you consider to be the best editor for PHP? I'm talking about something which can highlight code / inform you when it might be wrong etc.

    Thanks

For highlighting I've found Dreamweaver MX (only version that will highlight PHP correctly) to be very good.

Id like to find a real PHP app though as the formatting in DWMX can be my undoing sometimes.

The only piece of shareware I've ever felt compelled to buy. Has syntax highlighting for several languages and has built in FTP support.

What more could you need from a text editor

    Just my 2 pence:

Notepad is fine but unless you're some kind of genius, syntax highlighting is a must; I find it helps me enormously.

On Linux shell, vim is good, but let's be honest, the colours are bloomin awful.

jedit is quite good, can handle loads of different languages including php. I'm sure theres quite a few editors around, but I've yet to find another editor that's suitably unfrilly, can handle so many different languages, and is cross-platform.
