    XP SP2 + pata/sata

Installed XP slipstreamed to Sp2 on to my new raptor, with no other harddrive connected.

Installed, booted up, used it for a few hours fine.

Hook up my 120gb seagate p-ata drive, and it wont boot off the raptor anymore.

Can only set boot devices to Harddrive, no HDD1/2/3/etc, so there doesnt seem to be a way in bios to force it to boot off s-ata

    Any ideas?

    Oops

K8N Platinum 2(s939) with latest bios.

    [edit]
Also, it shows a "safely remove hardware" thingy in the taskbar - for the raptor harddrive, anyway to remove it?

I've just checked the manual for it... I think you need to go to the 'advanced bios settings' section of the bios, and from there you can change the boot priority of the hard disks...

As for the message in the taskbar, I don't know... maybe it'll go away if it's the boot disk?

Found the bios setting alright, but changing it does nothing(have raptor 1, seagate 2, other 3).

The message in the taskbar only shows when I'm booting off the raptor...

Hmm, well I've had a look around, and there seems to be quite a few problems with that board... Have a look at these:

To sum up... Try using your SATA drive on SATA ports 3&4, rather than 1&2... Also, try moving around your IDE devices... change channels, change master to slave etc.
