    keeping a drive spun up?

My DVD drive has a habit of spinning down rather sooner than I'd expect it to, which usually is fine as it's pretty noisy when it's going. It gets a little annoying though when I'm transferring small files from it to different places; if I spend more than a couple of seconds without accessing it, it spins down so for the next file I have to wait for it to spin up again.

So does anyone knew of a program or trick that would keep it spun up for a few minutes? It's obviously not a life-threatening problem but it'd be nice

I've got that problem with my old DVD-ROM drive. There's a feature on the new drives which stops that from happening, i think it's a hardware fix only

That makes sense, most of my stuff is 2 years old now... Just another reason to upgrade Cheers KeZZeR.
