    Windows constantly re-boots

Fitted some cathodes to the kids machine, switched it on, the opening XP Home screen comes up. The screen goes dark for a second - as it does, prior to switching over to the gui, and when the screen lights up again, it's at the POST screen 'cos it's re-booted.

    Any ideas or solutions?

P.S. Same thing happens in Safe mode

check what temp your getting in the bios screens. you may of dislodged something whilest installing the cathodes.

they can add to the overall temp of the system so it may of pushed it over the edge.

try booting with the side off as that normall drops the temps.

the inverter can cause some hd problems as well. check you havn't got it squashed next to the ide cables

Thanks for those pointers. I tried it again with the side off and the invertor off. No difference. It is a SATA drive, would that make any difference?

Problem solved. Ran Windows install, selected Repair and everything is back to normal!
