    Free Software

While this may not be a store special, it is the season of giving and why not try some of the open source and freeware out there. Most are small downloads, so it would be easy to burn this to a cd for a stocking stuffer, if you don't mind putting on a fancy label either store bought or home made.
So here are the sites for your software browsing pleasure:

I use the freeware one as none of the other freebie burning progs support my plextor and the supplied Roxio nonsense is sloooow.

If we are talking about software bargains maybe we should give a mention towards good software included on magazine cover disks. Digit, Computer Arts and a few others have Bryce 4 free at the moment with an option to upgrade to 5 for very little.

    Nice find guys

Didnt we have a section/thread for free software a while back or am i getting mixed up with another forum?

It would be a good idea to get an organised sticky of a list of some of the freeware available - something in the format of the current list of UK suppliers.

Yeah I think freeware should really be in the software section as no money changes hands. The cover disc software should probebly be there as the magazine isn't actually any less, its just they are including something good.
