    Post router, will it work?

Having read on your page about 'the best router' to use with my windows xp I have bought a Netgear RP614v2, followed all the directions - it still isn't connecting. The netgear smart wizard tells me all is fine, oh no it's not! Reading about what to do and following different points of view I am getting a bit P.off with setting it up - is it going to work or isn't it? Could someone with the savy to get me connected be out there? Please! It has to be something very silly that needs to be done, but I do not know what that is - yet. Thanks for the words of wisdom!

    Netgear Router

    Hi,

I take it you have knocked off your firewall, the LAN connection is set to "assign an IP address automatically" and you can open up the Netgear set-up via your web browser?
