Not seeing a huge difference on the surface with this build yet, anyone else? Obviously the plumbing underneath may have had a huge overhaul....

For some reason build 10061 and 10074 won't install on my computer and am stuck on 10049.....I think I'll have wipe the hard disk and instal 9926 from a DVD and start again well unless I can get a ISO file for 10061 etc

Well I've just found out you can get a build 10074 iso so will try that next...I had this problem before and leapt ahead by a CD instal. But some people are getting problems with error codes and can't work my one out as I transferred the HD to another computer and it still wouldn't upgrade.

It's on fast. Also thought once I downloaded the 10074 iso file and extracted it to USB stick (not bootable setup)...that it would upgrade on just clicking on "setup" , that didn't work either.
Anyway I'll persevere as I have plenty of spare time and find problems interesting.

Am currently giving this a whirl on an old spare dell laptop.
Core2duo, with (I think) 2gb RAM and an older spinning drive.
I totally accept that it's not a modern or particularly fast machine, however windows 7 ran very adequately on it.
This build on win10 though... Wow, super-slow to respond to nearly everything. Half the apps (mail, photo) won't load at all, and the other half can take 30 seconds + to launch (Internet explorer).
Granted, it's Beta, however it's not inspiring faith for a smooth summer launch, at least not as a finished product.
Hope a more polished build comes along soon.

It does seem a heck of a lot slower than the build I was using last year for some reason...

Not seen any performance drops since 10074 installed. However, since 10061 firefox and my AMD 7900 driver have become a bit unstable, despite both being bang up to date. Also, a bit dis-chuffed that Spartan automatically loads itself as the default programmes for pdf documents, but at least I could change that.
I'm not putting a lot of time on it but I installed the latest ISO after the original and had no problems with either(!). The 'latest' ISO also updated on the fast track and that worked too. But that's a loose usage of 'worked', I didn't really try many apps. Also with the first tech preview I noticed some diminished performance compared to an app (same app.....) in win 8.1 but I did post about it in the MS forums. Hopefully they noticed LOLl !

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
What annoys me (not blaming anyone) about win 10 preview are so far:-
Kaspersky will not install.
Problems using X1950 pro (no problems win7)...but why should I have to buy another card to use Win 10 on a backup computer.
A great free cleaner "ADWcleaner" will work but win 10 will not let it instal on your hardisk
BTW anyone interested in ADWcleaner....make sure you get it from a reliable source, otherwise you'll could get unwanted adverts and spyware.

Anti-virus, backup software, partition utilities and drivers are pretty much always up-in-the-air on any beta/preview and in many cases will require an update (or a paid for upgrade) before they will function on a new release of Windows. This is the way it has always been.
I finally got to the point where I was so happy with Windows 10 on my VM that I upgraded my gaming PC last night (Build 10130 - 22/05/15 - fbl_impressive)......at the point where I will be using windows image backup and "Windows Defender" for a couple of months now....
