    Installing Mandrake 10.1

I'm currently trying to install Mandrake 10.1. I press Enter at the start screen to install normally, it carries on for about a minute, then comes with an error message: "Fatal error finishing initialization".

When I look at the log, the last three lines are as follows:

    mounting /dev/ram3 on /sysroot/tmp/stage2 as type ext2
    fopen(stage1.c383) failed: I/O error
    unsetting automatic

There are also a couple of lines that might be the problem:

    file-not-found-in-archive keybdev.ko
    warning, insmod failed (keybdev (null))(2)

    Thanks

    Mike

Could be a read error on the CD?

I might try downloading it again, although the MD5 checker said it was fine.

Just a generic wired keyboard - but it does go through a Belkin KVM, could that be causing any problems?

    Thanks

Okay, I've managed to get it going, but it keeps coming up with errors in the installation. It says that it can't install some packages - any ideas why, and will it affect the installation that much? (Although I assume it depends on what packages don't install).
