Malware Bytes - Free (12 months subscription)

Just to provide PC consumers with the opportunity to change to Malware if there existing AV is expiring?

I don't think what I'm posting is wrong as the site is promoting it or various tech blogs are.

Download the software then activate the keys and you'll be given 12 months free? It's worked for me.

Yup, free for a year for everyone. But you do need a valid (pirated) license key. Betanews article

I just hope they don't muck up my genuine lifetime license key in the process of revamping their licensing system.

That's certainly good news, anything that makes MBAM more accessible is great for people's safety.

I'll sit here happily with my lifetime license though. I only noticed they'd stopped selling those the other day, must have been piracy rate or something.

I just use the free non-premium version in conjunction with my standard AV, currently Avast.

Ironically, I might have bought a one-off lifetime licence. I have on many other packages. But a 12-month sub? Nope.

I did, about 4 years ago. Thankfully lifetime means lifetime, but I guess this is just the market: devs need to eat too, and ongoing support must have been costing too for the perpetual license model to be feasible.

Re: Malware Bytes - Free (12 months subscription)

I saw on that r/microsoftsoftwareswap page that someone posted on one of our Windows 10 threads that some of the sellers there actually still carry MBAM lifetime license keys. Buyer beware in those circumstances though since its a bit shady. From what I understand its bulk bought legitimate retail keys however as the Windows 10 discussion went down, and I believe you were involved Saracen, selling the key isnt the same as selling the license and ends up in all sorts of odd legal areas.
