    Free Forum software

im in the process of making a web site for the model RC club that i race at, and i was considdering adding a forum.

    - The forum wouldnt get use much, becuase there will never be many people using it, and there is a good international forum for talking about RC

    - But it would be good to have a free, web based forum so that members of the club, and perspective member could talk about club specific things, ie race results.

Just wondering what people would recomend i do/use?

PHPbb is one of the best free forums you can get.

I dread to think what version you were using, ive had PHPbb installed for ages and always had that option. Its hardly out of date though, its one of the most used and updated free forums out there. Compairing it to VB is pointless, as that costs money.

It must be just the one that gets installed free on my pack then.. strange as they keep up with other stuff. Also all the phpbbs i have seen never have it enabled then.

Not even the phpbb has it enabled.

well in that case windows should be the bollocks....

Phpbb is good, has numerous forums of my own running it and its not got a bad admin panel. Easy to modify with your own bits found on other sites, think one's called phpbbhacks.

Invision power board is another one that might be worth a look
