Running UD when rendering 3ds max

Ok so I want to download and run UD as a screensaver when my pc is idle, however I do a lot of 3ds max rendering and is running UD going to increase rendering times?

My question is, is there a way to set the ud client to low process priority so 3ds max gets most of the power when it is running?

Edit: Also is it better for me to use UD or Find-A-Drug. UD seems a bit commercial and I dont like the fact that they sell your cpu time to the highest bidder. But is Find a Drug any different?

All these distributed clients should be running on pretty much the lowest priority out of the box, so no worries there.

As to the UD vs Find-a-drug, I'm in no position to comment as I don't use either, but I believe from what I've heard that Find-a-drug is more 'charitable' so to speak.

Find-a-Drug is the less commercial as far as I can see. More importantly, the drug finding program it uses is way more efficient than the one UD uses:). AFAIK both come set to run at lowest priority straight out of the box- I've never noticed any performance loss at all with either UD or FAD.

Thanks for the comments guys! I have installed UD with no performance loss with it on all the time which is great. I will however look a bit more into find-a-drug if it is more efficient and perhaps install that.

you should be able to opt-out of the commercial use of UD in your settings on the site.
