Help very much needed - ASP

I formatted my HDD recently forgetting to back up the access databases powering my websites. I found an old backup copy, added the missing tables and made it to exactly the same specification as before.

However, whenever I want to add or update records it gives me the terrible 'Operation must use an updateable query.' error. The database is exactly the same as before the reformat, the connection is exactly the same, the site is exactly the same. Why won't it update or insert new records?

I really need you're help on this one Hexus.

Yep i've already looked through those suggestions, no luck. Not entirely sure what they mean by 'use the Security tab in Explorer' however.

I have a feeling it is an IIS problem. IIS lets me see scripted pages on localhost and everything SEEMS dandy, but when trying to set up a testing server in Dreamweaver, it insists I havn't done so. I had this problem before and it was because i had DCOM disabled, DCOM is most definately turnd on this time, what the hell is going on?

    Question

Can you paste the SQL (might be just a table name) in the recordset/command?

That will help us see if its a real SQL cant update error or somet else.

First off I fixed the IIS problem, forget about that.

Second, it's not an SQL error. It was 100% working prior to the reformat, and now EVERY insert/update statement that was working before produces this error. It must be some kind of permissions problem, I can't for the life of me figure out what, and I desperately need this fixed.

Oh forgot about this, thanks for your help guys but I finally managed to solve it (just in time I might add). After much time ploughing through the MMC and dcomcnfg trying to figure where the security options had gone, I realised you had to go to tools, folder options in explorer and uncheck 'use simple file sharing' to sort the permissions properly. Bloody Windows for dummies.
