    DVD to Div X software

Anyone got any first hand expirence on using a product that can do this process pretty simply?

All I want as the output is a DivX file with just the film, no menu special features e.t.c

I've downloaded a trial verison of "Supper DVD Ripper" and it crashed, bah!

I just want something that's really simple to use, saves me from taking my DVD's to Uni, where there is a higher chance of them getting stolen.

Gordian Knot was designed as a user friendly combination of all the bits of software that went before it. I remember when ripping a movie involved different programs for different steps. Gordian Knot is what overcame that.

Yep, agree, all the nice stuff like DVD Decrypter and VobSub in a nice package. Just 10 minutes to figure out how to use

True - the walkthrough given explains the ripping very well, but the encoding aspect isn't half as clear - annoying, seeing as buggering up the encoding will waste hours, and buggering up the ripping will take minutes.

DVD Decrypter to run an ISO of the DVD off, then use deamon tools to mount the image and use DVDx to run it off to xVid (better codec I have found and easier to get decent results)

Knoxville: DVDDecrypter is great and so is Vidomi encoder. Just started backing up my DVD collection, could take a while but so far so good.

One thing about Vidomi, I was encoding Wild Things and it spread it over two files, one 650MB in size, the other 25MB in size, anyone of stopping it doing this?
