AIM issue or is it Windows?

Hi, having a bit of problem at work with AIM. We need it for running a national talk show and it's being a pain.

Actually it's not being anything, and that's the issue. We were avoiding upgrading our version but the popups became annoying so I clicked to upgrade. It gave the usual shut all version and continue which I did, but upon downloading, it never installed. I tried a few times but nothing. So I uninstalled the prior version, and still nothing. Now, no matter which version I download. The file drops happily onto my desktop but whether I double-click it or right-click open it, nothing happens. At all.

I can download and install other files. Just not AIM files apparently. Any ideas?

    Cheers.

Might I ask what exactly that is and what it does since this is a work computer....?

EDIT - Nevermind - I found the answer myself. Thanks for the solution, I'll pass it on to my boss.

I am still curious about the intial problem though. Anyone experience this before, maybe with other installs? I'm assuming the file isn't bad, so presuming it's an issue with maybe something that didn't uninstall properly.
