Windows 10 Universal App for Radio Recording

    Hey guys,
I record music from my favorite web radio channels. Now I'd like to switch from traditional software to a good Windows 10 app which will allow me to use the same software on different mobile devices. Do you have some experience with good radio apps? Thanks for your help!

I suspect that recording and storing music from streaming services & internet radio stations is against the T&Cs, and may even be illegal depending on your territory and the copyright laws in force there. In which case, we'd frown upon discussion of it on hexus. I imagine if those channels wanted you to save the music they were broadcasting they'd make legitimate downloads of it available on their sites. Have you check there? Or looked to see if any of the bands/artists you like offer free samples of their work?

Is that so? Then I'm sorry. I didn't expect it to be a problem since there's so much software around for radio recording including commercial applications. Not only want I record music but also my favorite radio shows for offline playback. That can't seriously be a problem?!

Audials makes great software for this purpose. I used their PC software and it works great. Apparently they also offer a new app for Windows 10 but I've never used it.

Re: Windows 10 Universal App for Radio Recording

You'd need to check the T&Cs of the radio station in question. There may well be terms that allow you to record for personal use only, or for a given period of time, or so on. If there aren't you're into a very grey area.

There are lots of legitimate reasons to record audio that's playing on your computer, so there are lots of legitimate programs for doing so; that doesn't mean that every use of that software is legitimate. Legally owning a shotgun in the UK doesn't mean you can carry it down the high street, after all

Um, ok thanks for the hint scaryjim. I need to do some research there. And thanks HotCoke, that looks very promising!
