Games
Being new to PC gaming other than Steam do people have a preference of where they buy / download their games? Steam appears to be cheaper than your typical console game purchase, just wanted to know if I would be missing some decent alternatives
Thanks

Re: Games
humblebundle
gog.com
bundlestars
bargain bin at currys that one time I bought crysis for £1
cheap deals at amazon for box copies. although the last one I got from there was the £130 Witcher 3 collectors edition.
used to be GAME, but since they reduced the PC section (was 3/4 of shop) then reduce it to 1 cabinet, then a shelf with just fifa and sims on it. not been back in in about 15 years.
also keep an eye on hotukdeals/freebies, been pointed to about 100 free games through there in the last few yesrs.

Re: Games
In addition to stevie lee's post:
cdkeys.com (I've never had a problem with them, but I believe Cat-the-fifth may have had to send them scans of ID or something for fraud prevention - he did get the key though) - They also have Steam wallet codes for a slight discount, so you can save a little there and then buy things in Steam sales with that credit for a double saving.
indiegala.com
groupees.com

Re: Games
If you don't mind 3rd party sellers as above, this is a good price comparison site; http://www.allkeyshop.com/
And if you want to get indie bundles head over to http://www.indiegamebundles.com/ . It's a blog which covers game bundles and you may discover something you like. If nothing else, it is also a reminder that for all the rose tinted affection indie games get, there is a lot of garbage and abandoned early access. :P

Re: Games
It's worth bunging your list of games you want onto www.isthereanydeal.com IMO.
It will basically email you whenever they drop below a price you specify, although it only provides info on genuine retailers (as opposed to the 3rd party sellers mentioned above).
The nice thing is, you can look at a game, see what its historical low prices are across a range of merchants, and decide whether it's worth going for or holding off on.

Re: Games
I would also check out Instant Gaming, they usually have decent deals on new titles, have stuff for GOG, UPlay, Steam & Origin :

Re: Games
I use Kinguin sometimes and they come up the cheapest sometimes.

Re: Games
Loving that cdkeys and that Kinguin - great advice, thanks!

Re: Games
Direct from the Devs (such as with Frontier and RSI)
Steam
GoG
Humble
Origin occasionally
Uplay only exists on my machine because Steam insisted I needed it.
