    windows question

I run windows 7 but had run windows 10 till I encountered a problem. Lately when ever I check for updates it will only let the updates through when I check the down load windows automatically. When the let me chose is selected it tell me my windows is not working.(DUH!!) Does Microsoft have a bug in it so you need to (or force you to) download windows 10? I personally do not want it on my computer luckily I had a retail version of 7. Any one else have this problem?

    Re: windows question

Not sure, I moved to Windows 10 a long time ago. Microsoft are pushing it hard, they don't want to support legacy platforms.

Out of interest, why are you resisting the move?

    Re: windows question

Not entirely sure about your particular issue but I've heard of a utility named "Never 10" which stops you being nagged about upgrading to Win10. Maybe it'll sort out your current update problem.

Try following the walkthrough here: http://wu.krelay.de/en/2016-07.htm

It should fix the WU issue and allow you to do your own thing without going full auto.

You will see when Microsoft starts updates that will affect what you can do. Already in the wind is an update to restrict Steam, what will be next? They already have your privacy in question. Why is there no competition for Microsoft? Think about it, You have bought in weather you think you have or not. Talks are spreading about global martial law. Lambs are easier to control. Did you try win 10 and rolled back to win 7? Also update problems and MS have "fixit" programs (for other problems too) and you could try that. When I rolled back to win 7 on one computer it made a complete cockup and had to format and start again
2nd computer gigabyte P965ds3p, 7770 E2140@2.9ghz, corsair HX520 6 years stable, replaced now with E8400@3.9ghz and will overclock more when I'm bored.

Wind is the right word for it. That was a load of hot air spouted by a game company CEO based on absolutely nothing. It was published in Edge magazine who have just named Valve 'developer of the year', despite the fact that Valve's sole release for the last few years consists of a few VR demos.

It says far more about the game world's view of the current steam platform monopoly than about any potential Microsoft plan to get a slice of the action.
