    Arrow Create your own theme?

Is it possible to create your own windows XP theme? I'm sure it is, I just don't know how . I'm looking for something a bit darker than normal, but most of the themes I see go too dark. I'd like some thing that'll let me change the colours, sizes, fonts etc of anything and everything. I know you can do SOME things in the display properties box, but I haven't seen a way to change to colour of the task bar (except blue, green, sliver) or the start menu.

    Thanks

try aston which is quite good, you can download themes from there site, plugins etc,
just remember to shell swap back to windows first if you unload it or you lose your windows icons, just like i did (

There is a theme building program to go with Window Blinds and I should imagine themeXP has something similiar .

I've not not looked at windows blinds because I heard it eats loads of resources. I had a dabble with styleXP though, but couldn't find anything to customise your themes. The problem is, I might like the colours in a theme (rarely), but I don't like the wallpaper. Therefore, I change the wallpaper, and then the colours don't match. I want something that I can change EVERYTHING with.

I'll have a look at that windows blinds thing though .

EDIT - at the bottom of that link you gave be is a thing called desktopX - I'll have a look at that too.

Hmmm I'm sure there is some controversy about the relative advantages of stylexp over Window Blinds. AFAIK the present version of window blinds is reasonably light on system resources.

Anyway StyleXp do have a similar theme building prog here .

styleXP vs windowblinds is a fairly moot point - Windows Xp's built in theme engine is based on Windowblinds 3, and all StyleXP does is re-enable a disabled feature of it (allows it to load files not digitally signed by Microsoft)
