and that's when I get blocked

I'm at home, not at work, and I'm not on a VPN

I think that the BROWSERS are blocking it

Chrome made a lot of noise a while ago about not needing Java... having now installed it on Firefox .. Firefox has blocked it organically and while I am allowed to let it work it's clearly not happy about it.

Maybe we don't need Java any more on modern browsers?

I got that on Sunday 25th September.
Had just installed Win 10 Pro on a 2008 laptop and wanted to let Nvidia find my GPU, luckily the NVIDIA Geforce driver tool didn't need Java and has installed a video driver that works just fine.

Maybe we don't need Java any more on modern browsers?

For years I blocked Java in browsers and haven't missed it, for the huge security risk downside it seems to have very little browser upside.

It is, however, required to run Minecraft so with kids in the house Java is on most machines.

There's another way to grab Java SE Runtime Environment 8u101 from Oracle's own servers: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/ja...s-2133155.html

But, it might not be possible to verify the Java installation at the main site...
