Acronis Alternative
I'm looking to do several backups to image future machines as they're always the same hardware but with different windows activation.
Is there anything like acronis but cheaper that will do this as Acronis is a per machine basis and I must build 10 per month so it isn't cheap

Give Veeam Endpoint free a whirl.

Re: Acronis Alternative
The Paragon stuff is worth a look, they have a free version (no reg required)
https://www.paragon-software.com/home/br-free/
Also macrium reflect has a free version too
Driveimage MXL is free http://www.runtime.org/dixml.htm
and easus which is free too
http://www.easeus.com/backup-software/tb-free.html
You could use a bootable Linux thumb drive and DD the image off NAS, of if you want a dedicated solution something like http://clonezilla.org/ will work its open source and fast.
Restoring images of the network is typically faster than disk to disk as SATA and USB throughput is slow compared to GB ethernet.
Sounds like you are doing a lot of builds so a newwork setup might be worth looking at.

Re: Acronis Alternative
I would second macrium reflect. v6 is the latest revision and it is free for non comerical use. I find it's interface very easy on the eye and imaging/cloning as easy as pie.

Re: Acronis Alternative
I love Macrium reflect, the delta restore and backup is amazing speed wise. I basically do a drive image daily over wifi and it will only add on the changed info via incrementals that you can cap at a set limit before it starts appending existing ones. or pick any other backup set and customise it.
I nerfed the OS one day and by plugging in my ethernet dongle I was up and running 15 minutes later.
30% off code for black friday week EFY-STV-LZD
V6 has a 30 day trial for the full version or just go with the free but you lose the incremental option.

GoNz0 did you get that discount code from their website?

Re: Acronis Alternative
I've used Clonezilla a few times, does the job for bare metal backup and recovery, You get 2 versions - Clonezilla live and Clonezilla SE (server edition) - This Macrium looks interesting will give a try

Re: Acronis Alternative
Another vote for Macrium after GoNzo recommended it in another thread. Acronis kept erroring out on me and wouldn't image a drive. Macrium worked a treat and is now my go to drive imaging software
