messengers are not really my cup of tea but I have heard GAIM is very good.
What i cant stand about GAIMis that i cant seem to find any options for having it minimize to the system tray. Still use all the seperate prigrams because of this.

Is there a Gaim tray icon, or docklet, or gnome applet, or panel icon, or something?
Yeah, Gaim supports what is called a system tray icon that conforms to the standards at www.freedesktop.org. This tray icon is supported by Windows, KDE 3.1, Gnome 2.2, and Red Hat Gnome 2.0. All you have to do is load the "System Tray Icon" plugin by going to Preferences and then Plugins.
Trillian, tho I'm having numerous msn-related difficulties with every version of MSN itself and clone software in that I don't receive sent messages. Think it's either down to MTU or firmware of my router or (most likely) the luser on the other end who uses a Mac. Nuff said
MSN.6.2
Tried the BETA 7 and went back to 6.2
