You could try Spybot Search & Destroy, just google it for the free download. Is you're ad aware up to date also ?

    Try Trendmicro Housecall

    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

    and/or

    http://www.pandasoftware.com/actives..._principal.htm

I presume that your Adaware and Spybot etc are all up to date with the latest definitions......

This does look vaguely like an advert type result to con you into their software, as I have no experience with Earthlink I will reserve my opinion.

Norton is notorious for missing trojans.......

try those links I posted, then reply with results

    Cheers

I agree it may be a marketing gimmick.

Well I would have said that was a marketing gimmick to scare you into buying some software. However, i just went there and it showed me as having nothing on my system. Strange, if there were there Spybot should have found something. I'm still not 100% sure if it's not a con, but pop along to www.downloads.com and get some other spyware scanners. I don't see how a web based scanner can be that good anyway.

I tried it on my system a few mins ago, it did find 6 things so I decided to run a check with ad aware and the virus I had (knew nothing about it) was actually in their list. It was some sort of ad trojan I had, lord only knows where I got it from.

Think this is just a tool to make you aware to a certain extent but not overly accurate.

Best bet is to look at the startup using msconfig and see whats starting up with windows that shouldnt be and disable anything that looks dubious then restart ignoring the selective startup warning you get once logged back in, then run the ad aware again and it should remove most things and then something like NAV for everything else.

Still has me baffled on how I got that Malware Trojan on mine, have firewall installed with NAV and everything is up to date, unless its a new one that got through my defences possibly. All clear now at least.

From the links above, I did a scan with Trend which came up with:-

    - JAVA.BYTEVER.A (it said it was an infected file, so I deleted it)
    - PE FINALDO.A
    - TROJ YABINER.C

Tried with Panda but can't get it to work with my browers (IE and Firefox)

Symantec / Norton doesn't pick up anything???

I also googled for ABC Keylogger and there is such a thing in existance - its also freeware so I guess its not outside the realms of possibility that some hacker has hidden it a program I might have installed.

    What should I do now??

BTW, the original link which I used to scan is here:-

safecast would ahve been installed if you, say, played a corrupt audio cd on your computer. cookies aren't worth worrying about. the keylogger on the other hand IS a big issue

CDilla sometimes installs with video games. When I first noticed it on one of my pcs last summer, I didn't even know it was spyware. I went to the creators site and asked what it was. It flamed by the creators for using the phrase "unauthorized install."
