    Help choosing File Recovery software

Hello everbody. I need help choosing some file recovery software... I need to get to a 9gb Drive Image 7.0 image file that resides on a hard drive that's reading RAW in windows. I imagine the file table/file system is gone on the drive. This happened because the customer placed his important backup on a seondary hard drive installed in his sytem, with no operating sytem on it, just the file. He then reinstalled Windows on his main hard drive and now of course the files on the 2nd hard drive are no longer accessible.

Wat should I do? I dont want to tell this guy his treasured family photos are lost forever. Any suggestions on software or any other solutions? I would greatly appreciate any replies.

I had something simular to me happen, what happened is i was trying out the leaked RC1 of Longhorn, and it screwed up the partition type flag of my data partition, after much panicking and banging my head against my table, i used partition magic rescue disk to modify the flag from raw back to ntfs, so luckly enough that worked.. give that a try.

All is well. Before checking for a reply on these forums I tried PC File Inspector Pro and it was able to read all the files on the hard drive I needed and recovered them. I tried the open source program Testdisk first but it failed to find the files.
So the customer got his data back and everyone lived happily ever after.
