Arial fonts in Windows, games etc messed up

I did any update to my virus program the other day (Symantec Corporate Anti-Virus) and after I rebooted, I noticed that any program that uses Arial font, it is set to Italics by default. This includes all webpages, and even text within games.

Is there anyway that I can reset this?

    Thanks

happened to me ages ago - not sure what caused it.
your arial font is missing or corrupted, so reinstall it:-

get your windows install disc and copy ARIAL.TT_ from the i386 folder onto the root of your C:\ drive. (the file may be in a different location for windows xp)

open up a cmd window (windows key+r then type cmd and hit enter) and type the following:
    cd \
    expand arial.tt_ arial.ttf

now use windows explorer and delete the ARIAL.TT_ file. keep that window open and open the fonts folder from the control panel. drag the arial.ttf into the open fonts folder window.

my method may be a bit longwinded, but it worked for me
