Simple cross-platform password manager
I'm looking for a cross-platform password manager that is extremely simple to use and works on Windows 10, macOS and iOS. Most of the ones these days are way too complicated and stuffed with features that I'd never used.
I want to be able to store info like this:
Site Username Password Notes
=== ======= ====== ====
Hexus HexuseUser. abc123 Cool site!
Scan ScanUser def456 Best hardware site
That's pretty much it. The notes section could offer a few lines of free-form text and I could probably do with storing credit card PIN numbers as a nice to have. Obviously it needs to be very secure.
Re: Simple cross-platform password manager
I saw a relevant article earlier in the week; http://phandroid.com/2017/08/03/last...premium-price/
It mentions the increase in LastPass prices and offers some alternatives. Perhaps one of them is for you?
The reddit thread I saw it in; https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/com...ort=confidence
And two further suggestions in the thread: https://bitwarden.com/ and http://keepass.info/
Re: Simple cross-platform password manager
I use keepass on Win10 and Android, looks like there is a port for OSX. It has the option of plugins but you dot have to use them.

Re: Simple cross-platform password manager
Version 2 of Keepass is a .Net/Mono program so it works on Linux/Mac OS. KeePassX is probably more of an alternative than a port, although I haven't tried it.
You will need a separate iOS app, but there are half a dozen suggestions listed on the Keepass download page. aqz
Re: Simple cross-platform password manager
Installed KeepassX on my Mac yesterday. It's simple enough to use. I will try the Windows client later. Just trying to figure out how to sync up the password database files, as the database file is on my Mac at the moment.
Re: Simple cross-platform password manager
Lastpass is free now for mobile platforms (always was for windows/mac)
I have used it for years and do not need any premium features.

Whenever I see mentions of KeepassX lately (not familiar with it myself), I usually see KeepassXC being recommended by people as being the superior version due to having more active development (also see their FAQ note about why to choose them instead).
That version is also available for Windows and Linux too, with their FAQ stating a reason to choose KeepassXC over the original Keepass as it being developed in C++ to run natively on all platforms for the best integration rather than needing .NET/Mono.

Another user of Keepass here (company policy, but it's pretty good at what it does)

No doubt it synergises well too.

Password Safe: https://pwsafe.org/
Whilst it's Windows only, it's format is open and there are lots of ports. I use it on Windows and Linux.
