well the beta licence (RC2 currently) is free for a year & then expires so I'm sure that the final release version will be chargeable.
Interesting about the trade-in for XP Pro if true - how about people who run Home?

whats the problem - you have to buy windows XP 32 bit, so it is reasonable to expect you buy 64 bit. it is a new OS in that respect
