    Microsoft Edge has stopped working

Is Microsoft edge an unstable mess for anyone else lately? I don't even use it as my primary browser but lately it's locking up so frequently it's basically unusable, and Reliability Monitor looks like this:

I've tried clearing data, 'reinstalling' Edge by deleting its Application Data folder then resetting it with Powershell, along with rolling back Intel GPU drivers I also kinda suspect, but it just keeps crashing. For the most part, what it does is stop responding for a while, then carries on as normal, but the pause is reported as a crash in Reliability Monitor as shown above. It's just the stock browser with no add-ons, etc.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

    Cheers

Poor coding? But don't worry, MS will have detected the failures on your system and even now will be working to download a fix to you.

    Meanwhile, use Chrome or Firefox!

Re: Microsoft Edge has stopped working

I've just done a bit more searching and, as seems to be typical for me, find something right after I make a post! https://www.tenforums.com/browsers-e...y-history.html

So it doesn't look like I'm the only one to have this problem at least. I've also just left some hopefully useful feedback on the 'feedback hub', e.g. steps I've taken trying to resolve it, software present, etc.

I do normally use FF/Chrome as a primary browser, I've just been trying to give Edge a try as it feels fairly quick when it's working properly, and AFAIK it's the only browser available on Windows on which Netflix will stream 1080p content - others are limited to 720p.

Don't have Trusteer Rapport do you? Was working on a system with terrible edge problems and all came down to a recent update to that. Removed Trusteer and all good.

Nope, but I have seen that mentioned as a common cause when I was researching it.
