No, its not a sound clip from the new magic roundabout, its a piece of software called "Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing" that is basically a client software that can do more than 1 type of processing at a time, and you can register to process more than just "one" specific type of data.

PROJECTS

At the moment, the list of projects and their sites to register to are as follows ;

Climateprediction.net: Improve the accuracy of long-term climate prediction.
Einstein@home: search data from the Laser Interferometer Gravitational wave Observatory (LIGO) in the US and from the GEO 600 gravitational wave observatory in Germany for signals coming from rapidly rotating neutron stars, known as pulsars.
LHC@home: improve the design of the CERN LHC particle accelerator.
Predictor@home: Solve biomedical questions and investigate protein-related diseases.
SETI@home: Analyze radio-telescope data, looking for evidence of extraterrestrial life.

I've noticed that with SETI - it actually PROCESSES a lot quicker than using the standard SETI client, and there are some other worthwhile projects that are also on here
