New Firefox Quantum is blocking Ads, and I didn't ask it too
Hello
New Firefox Quantumtoday (15th Nov 2017) and it's decide to block all adverts on all webpages.
It doesn't do it in Private Browsing, just in normal browsing.
I need to see all adverts so it's not good for me
I have no ad blockers installed. Chrome I have no blocked ads, and on Firefox it's never done it until the new version today. Cant find any options in the menus.
Any idea please guys?

Might be tracking protection, seems to kill ads that track the users - not a bad thing IMO.

tried turning that off but sadly no joy
Re: New Firefox Quantum is blocking Ads, and I didn't ask it too
I've just deleted cooking for last 4 hours and it's solved
odd.. but cookies from old Firefox and new Quantum didn't like each other.
Re: New Firefox Quantum is blocking Ads, and I didn't ask it too
Ima having to regularly remove all cookies to prevent ads being blocked.
Anyone else?

Nope dont have that problem. I use ublock, turned it off in quantum and ads everywhere. Nothing is being blocked on mine
Re: New Firefox Quantum is blocking Ads, and I didn't ask it too
i have no adblock software at all.... but after a lot of surfing our site and our other hardware sites... the ads go.
didn't want to fal back to Chrome but getting close now.
Re: New Firefox Quantum is blocking Ads, and I didn't ask it too
Its pretty odd though as I turn it off(ublock) on Hexus and get the ad at the top etc.
As far as I know there is no functionality in quantum to block ads. Odd.

I updated to FF57 64bit today. All working normally
Re: New Firefox Quantum is blocking Ads, and I didn't ask it too
If it's any help, I binned Firefox off months ago. It started doing really odd things occasionally, and eventually refused to even launch, even after a full uninstall and reload. I even tried a system restore, and that didn't work either. Using Chrome now, does everything I want it to - just had a bit of an adjustment period where it all felt quite weird.

Not blocking ads for me, I really like the changes they have made so far. Feel a lot less... hungry... although that might be because it's just using the resources better whereas before it would get a bit clogged up.
I wont be going back to Chrome. It doesn't seem to matter what you do with plug ins and settings, it always manages to track you.

Does anyone you know have the same issue though? Does it happen on any other devices for instance(that your not logged into firefox with)?
Re: New Firefox Quantum is blocking Ads, and I didn't ask it too
No. It's been fine for me. I had to clear cache and reinstall flash player on one machine but apart from that all's been good and ads are showing fine.

Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. Firefox shows a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case content is blocked by Tracking Protection, click the shield icon for more information.
You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.
