    Knoppix Live CD Problems

Im having trouble getting into the Live CD. I dont currently have a hard drive for the PC im trying to get it to boot on, hence why im using it.

I keep getting an error or nothing after

    Code:
Enabling DMA acceleration for : hda [Ricoh CD-R/RW MP7083A]
looking for CDROM in : /dev/scd0
Could this be a bad burn or is it the CD has no support for the Ricoh drive?

Also attempted to boot using "failsafe" but this gives me a garbled screen (onboard graphics and a monitor capable of 1024x768 @ 65Hz)

I will change CD-roms and see if that solves the matter. Other than that, im stumped.

Spec of PC = 1Ghz P3, Asus Terminator Barebone, onboard everything, 256ram.

    Anyone care to help?

knoppix.net forums are quick to reply and theres always someone who knows there.

Ive never tried to boot without a HDD before what knoppix cheat codes are you using?

i normally put in knoppix screen=1024x768 if screen troubles. try a lower res if that dont
work. you might have to mess with vsync or something if freq troubles.

    Sorted

    Code needed was

    knoppix26 noscsi nodma atapicd xvrefresh=60 xhrefresh=60

now to boot with network and see if it'll go online

Good luck, spent the last 2 days getting Knoppix to run completely from my external harddrive, nearly there now I think, just rewriting parts of the initrd script so I can mount the usb harddrive and pivot the root automatically
