Widely reported elsewhere, looks like they're really gunning for W10 lock in. Not sure how this will affect Office365 subscribers on older versions of Windows.

They might be going for Win10 lock-in, but for me, what this will achieve is merely Office 2019 lockout. Not that I was planning on upgrading Office anyway.

I haven't really used Office since about 2006. I had it at my last work place (2016 ish) but I didn't like the new interface and had little reason to use it, outside Outlook which was at least somewhat workable (though complete bloat).
So though I have Win10 I am very unlikely to ever use Office 2019. This suite has been quite feature complete for at least like 10 years lol. At least I thought so.

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
Pivots have been around for donkeys ? I was certainly using them on 2003
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
Yet another reason to avoid Windows 10, especially if business privacy is important and wasting money to be avoided. Just the uptime saved in dodging crippling "updates" worth staying on 7 or 8 or going to Linux.
I've still got Lotus 123 97 installed as I've got some files in that format - took 60 floppy disks to store the program originally, mine is on a (now not so new!) CD.
Just about anything is good enough for most people. Work got me an Office 365 license, as a Linux user that means using their Web apps. Have only really used web access Outlook so far, I suspect the others will work just fine for me. I installed Skype for Business on my Android phone so that is basically my work phone now.
Most documents aren't security sensitive, I've used the Google cloud spreadsheet for easy sharing of data and updates.
Really??? I will check...
Pleasantly surprised they're making a standalone version of MS Office at all, I expected 2016 to be the last version and then Office 365 to be pushed even more so !
Shame about potential W10 only, but I had no idea about this so thanks.
