I am not an MSDN subscriber. Is there anyway I can get a copy of the latest Longhorn build?

There is no Longhorn release canditates yet, not even to MSDN subscribers. The only thing released to the MSDN was the test of the 3d environment thing (forgotten the girly name), but that is now public.

However, Microsoft are expected to release a build some time this year. With a bit of luck, sign-ups will be open, as they were for Server 2003

Incorrect, MSDN subscribers have access to the Alpha versions, however if you're not an MSDN subscriber it's illegal to use such version
