bought a 160gb hdd the other day, installed itas slave, formatted, all as normal.

when dragging files from the old drive to the new, it doesnt move them, it copies them, never ahd this happen before, any idea how to stop/change it?

Drag them with the rightclick instead of leftclick and you get a nice menu giving you the option to: Move,Copy,Create Shortcut

If dragging files from one drive to another (be it physical disks or partitions), windows defaults to copying. Either Drag with Right click and choose move files from the pop up menu, or iirc, hold down shift when dragging and that should move the files over.
