NEW 6800 Card & OLD (omega)ATI DRIVERS

Hi!

I just received my new XFX 6800LE AGP card but before i install the card should i remove the old 'Omega'ATI drivers (via omega cleanr), or is there a prog from nvidia that can get rid of them. What i do not really want to do is a clean instal, as i only did one 4 weeks ago, and have the pc set up just right. So if i can i would rather avoid it!

Use driver cleaner mate, you dont have to format and fresh install windows... just a program, ill email it to ya if you add me to MSN

Get rid of everything before you install your new one, otherwise performance will suffer BIG TIME...

That's a bit extreme, were you taking the p*ss per chance?

Just run driver cleaner and remove all Ati (and Nvidia) drivers, download the latest ones. Reboot, ignore windows new hardware detected thingy. Open Nvidia drivers and follow instructions.

...Right ive installed the card with the newest 7181 Guru3d drivers, No error mssgs, seems ok. If i want to softmod it to open other pipes, which prog do you recommend and what is the best method to do it? Thanks for help!

Rivatuner is the only program to unlock the pipes & softmod it. Use the latest version
