    BEWARE: SUPER by erightsoft.com

If for some reason you are thinking about using this to transcode some video.... DON'T

This isnt just your normal shovelware program where if you uncheck the things it tries to add and you will be fine. This put all manner of on my machine, uninstalled firefox and chrome and did who knows what else.

    Time for a reimaging.

Seems to have been an issue for at least a year:

This is the Adware it installs:

    Re: BEWARE: SUPER by erightsoft.com

Sophos did go off on one while it was installing but not on first opening it to install. It didnt seem to pick up anything after the install so i got rid of what I could but I had to use malwarebytes to get rid of most of the rest. I still had to manually delete some file and go through the registry as well.

I am not sure if OpenCandy got on there in the end or if it got blocked as I quickly went through uninstall programs at first to get rid of what I could. In the end there were splicer, felicities.exe and signify.exe which were listed in startup items and there were other folder which I had to manually get rid of. It created a folder called davidoff and burros and there were a few others, perhaps they were just random names that were generated. They all had Hazyfy in the meta data.

    Re: BEWARE: SUPER by erightsoft.com

I am working on trying to solve a problem with some Psychology experiment and the videos are in WMV format. The program which gets used has sample videos in Mpeg1 and other people recommend it as well (low CPU usage) so I needed something which can do that.

If anyone has any recommendations for an alternative program (free) please let me know. So far I have tried freemake but you get watermarks and mediacoder but that seemed to have some strange you can use this for 120 minutes after doing some encoding which is a bit of a problem when you are playing around.

I had some luck with HD Video factory. There doesn't seem to be many good free alternatives out there

This. If you're using a format it doesn't support someone has probably made a plugin.
