Free phone calls over the net

Anyone use Skype? I just installed it. Looks good. Free calls to other computers and 1.7 euro cents per minute to landlines (to various locations across the world). No doubt they have to pay to route calls through the landline provider which is why there's a charge for it.

Yep, just installed it to talk to my folks in Malaysia. Costs a pittance, even to mobiles! The quality is decent enough and if you can get the person on the other end to get an account, then its totally free, cant ask for more than that!

Shame its still expensive (relatively) to call UK mobiles from it...

Its ok...been around for ages. Its quite technically advanced iirc. Everything is encrypted and stuff. Its pretty good, just no one really bothers using it that much.

This does both, but hasnt really caught on as well as people might have expected considering...

I have recently installed this. .as I found out about it through my cousin (Tesla).. And we have used it. .I was actually surprised at the quality much better than MSN!! And also I really liked the overall program, including file transfer which doesn't limit the speeds like MSN and actually transfer damn fast in comparison..

I also really liked the overall IM..Its a damn good program in my opinion.. Also handy as I will only let some close friends in on it.. So I don't have to log into MSN and get bombarded with about 10 people and loads of other random people adding me. .

The slightly dodgy-sounding phone companies that advertise cheap calls on late night TV are actually cheaper than skype for US calls, and my experience of ONE.tel has been very good.

Obviously skype is even cheaper if you can persuade the person you're calling to install it, and have it running when you need to call them.
