Wish I went got a AMD64 chip now instead of my P4. Still not long till I upgrade again I am sure.

AMD is awesome no doubt. Wonder if you guys read the Xbitlabs article talking about XP 64bit. There are performance increases to be had switching to it apparently. Nice stuff.

I love my P4, I think the only reason I went for it over the AMD64 chips was because the amount of graphic editing I was doing at the time.

My next machine will be a AMD one though.

very interesting, so you infact may be a good guinee pig to actually benifit from doing a 64 bit OS, which your graphics editing (assuming its some pretty serious stuff)

I was gunna get this for a free os, untill x64 MCE comes out, will it? Also if i do use it will i need 64bit drivers form my hardware, if so can u get them and how do they compare to 32bit ones? In getting an ATI x800xl, u can look at my full system at www.nvening.tk under my pc

well first impressions are that it's just like 32bit XP, just that a lot of things won't work. 64bit IE wont run extensions such as flash player. Can't get soundcard drivers, tho n-force drivers work a treat & on-board sound is good.

Will be running sandra & 3dmark 05 later, just out of interest, and on a fresh install of 32bit xp on the same machine.

mmmmmmmm mabe ill just get an er copy of normal xp and wait for x64 MCE then.
