    Here's what's new in Firefox 1.0.1:

    * Improved stability
    * International Domain Names are now displayed as punycode. (To show International Domain Names in Unicode, set the "network.IDN_show_punycode" preference to false.)

    and apparently a few more security fixes, but they've not updated the page yet..

    Firefox doesn't replace IE, it runs alongside it. You can still use IE, and you can just remove Firefox as per normal.

    Agreed.

    I aint no expert, but I switched to Firefox about 6 months ago and would never go back to IE. I get no pop-ups or spyware or trojans or viruses, whereas I was plagued with them using IE.

    Hope this helps.

    Maybe if you didnt keep accepting active x installs at all those porn sites you wouldnt be
    plagued with them.

    Another Update: At the demand of the Mozilla Foundation, we've removed the direct links to the Firefox 1.0.1 FTP directory. Go to www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/all.html to see all the builds. We understand using the download links on the mozilla.org site places less strain on the servers due to the mirroring configuration.
    I wondered why i downloaded version 1.0

    But it's true..

    The only time I've had spyware recently is when I accidentally pressed yes on an ActiveX install box... And that was in Firefox

    OK, need a bit of help here. My dad is annoyed because now when he wants to see his ebay item in the favourites he can no longer see what the item is called just by putting the curser over the item in the favourites. HE has to guess which ebay item it is because not all the information is displayed. Do you know how to enable this or do you have a solution? Thanks, JOhn.

    I couldn't download 1.01 straight away, had to go through the ftp site instead....anyone else had this happen?

    and is it best to uninstall - install the new one, or can I just install on top of v 1.0 that I'm using right now...?
