    DVD Copying Software windows

    guys,

I'm looking for DVD writing software, with good functionality and good reliablity.
I've always thought nero worked well under windows, so I was looking at the Nero re-loaded package

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...561230-1297225

Having done very little with DVD copying I'd be interested in your opinions or alternates.

I'm looking for as good value for money with as much functionality as possible.
    It is Inevitable.....

Nero and Easy Media (Used to be CD) Creator are the top two DVD and CD burning packages.

However both of these packages will not copy commercial DVDs due to the encryption and the fact that its illegal. If thats what you mean then neither of these will work. (well media creator does not work and Im guessing nero wont either)

I personally use Easy Media Creator, its really great and the layout is fantastic. Since I have had this software I have never had a problem with any CDs and DVDs created. Im sure Nero is just as good though.

Have a look at some reviews and screenshots to see which product you prefer.

Oh ok my bad, its just media creator that cant copy dvds then. If you do want to copy dvds (obiously that you already own) then get nero.

For strictly legal stuff you cant beat Nero IMHO.
For your home movies that just happen to be copy protected DVD's use DVD decrypter and DVDshrink. Alledgedly
All nice and easy to use too

Clone DvD is pretty good. I have used it to burn bootable iso files as well.

If it's LEGAL DVD movie backup software you want, then there are loads and loads of excellent programs like Pinnicle, Nero Recode, Clone DVD 2 (highly recomended), intervideo, etc, etc. including menus and extra stuff if you want. But hardly any back up protected DVD's (99% of all movie DVD's are protected) except maybe a few flakey or hard to understand freeware tools (DVD shrink being the exception).

However, if you have AnyDVD they ALL will. In fact with AnyDVD, all software and windows see the DVD as unprotected, so you can also make legal DIVX files too (i.e for a handheld media player) or just drag and drop the VOB files to your harddrive.

AnyDVD is a true killer app and anyone who wants to back up DVD's (legally) should have AnyDVD on their system. I am suprised at how many people have not heard of it.
