    Lightbulb Programming Magazine

I don't think I've ever seen one, but is there a magazine on programming? Would anyone be interested in it? Basically, it would slowly work from the basics of VB (+ a bit of wscript) and move to Java and C/C#/C++.

Theres not a magazine as such, but there is www.vbug.co.uk - thats the VB Users Group.
If you signup you get a monthly magazine and discounts off seminars and the like.
They also have a free forum (it used to be free anyway - not been there in a while) which you can get support on.

The two I usually read are Dr. Dobb's and the C++ User Journal. Both are pretty good reads and Dr. Dobb's is certainly cheap (~$50 per year, which includes access to archived issues and code examples online).

I was about to say, there are plenty of academic journals on computing and programming, but they're aimed squarely at academics and are drier than James Bond's martini.

I for one would have a good read of a Magazine on programming, written for interest rather than academics. Good idea.
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.
