anonymous website
hello,
with the recent apple lawsuits (suing thinksecret etc) and those sites having to disclose their sources - i was wondering whether it would be possible to setup some kind of website that allows completely anonymous submissions of information - and also whether it would be possible to setup the website anonymously as well?

I use godaddy.com and they have a subsiduary company called domains by proxy, they are the registered nasme on the domain, but if they receive a legal request there is no way they will hold back handing out my details, but to joe public my domains appear on WhoIs as domains by proxy.
As to the anon posting, not possible, every ISP is now required by law within the EU to store data of traffic.
so realistically, no what you want aint possible.

it just seems a shame that in this apple case there doesn't seem to be a way for people to share information without being tracable

there is so much more to the apple case than meets the eye, tbh the way that case results will dictate how online news sites continue....

You could share information anon.
Go to a little webcafe, no name/details. Then just start making up websites/GeoCities etc. :)
Have I missed something - what are Apple doing now?

"Apple seeks to force three news sites, PowerPage, Apple Insider and Think Secret, to reveal sources of leaked confidential information."
normal press publications do not have to declare their sources, yet apple say online blogs are not normal press...
