Random Windows 10 slowdown

Did it happen after a Windows update? My sounds gone after the update .. infact media in my machine won't even play .. not even Youtube .. weird.

Is it still happening? I wonder if we who have experienced this could grab a thread and list all the possibilities - checklist for the next person.

Speaking personally though, mine just seems to be old machine (7.5 years!) plus too many tabs across usually two browsers (one used for work stuff, one other, generally)...!

Nope not happening any more. I have no idea fixed it either, a day or two after my last post in this thread it started behaving itself and has done since.
